Both the United Kingdom and the European Union are establishing new visa entry requirements for US Citizens visiting in 2025. The precise timeframe for implementation in the EU has not yet been announced, though it is expected by mid-2025.
If you are traveling either to the UK or within the EU, it is essential that you understand the requirements and how to apply, should you need to do so. The EU has announced that their ETIAS visa program will go into effect next year:
"Starting 2026, U.S. citizens need to register with ETIAS to travel to Europe. The ETIAS application is 100% online. You can apply online from the U.S. in minutes."
