Hello and welcome to The Savvy Traveler!
Our careers took us to Europe, in the 1990's, where we lived and worked for almost 20 years. We were traveling constantly, twice around the world and lots in between! Everywhere we went, we always tried to take a little time out to learn more about the country and explore the sights. Chances are we’ve been where you want to go!
Now we have a second career, one we have looked forward to, helping our friends, family and valued clients plan trips that will become lifelong memories! Arlene is a consummate travel investigator, and when we are not traveling ourselves, experiencing new locations and sights to see first hand, she is often researching travel subjects. And I enjoy working with our travel partners to ensure we have the best possible options for our clients.
But both of us love working with our Savvy Travelers, helping them plan their trips and working hard to craft enjoyable and unforgettable travel experiences. We would love to help you plan your next getaway!

Meet Our New Rep
Dorothy Benson
I have spent my entire career in the hospitality industry, beginning with more than eight years at Disney, followed by roles with Marriott and InterContinental Hotels. When my husband joined the U.S. Foreign Service, our family had the opportunity to live abroad in Cairo, Egypt; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Helsinki, Finland; and Dhaka, Bangladesh. These experiences allowed me to travel extensively and engage with diverse cultures while representing the United States overseas.
After returning to the United States, I transitioned into the golf industry, taking on roles in sales and marketing, food and beverage event management, and private club membership. I continue to work in the golf sector today as an office manager for a golf management company, supporting operations across 22 courses and more than 300 employees.
In my new role, I would love to help you plan your travel adventures!

From short stays to tours to world cruises and all the little activities along the way that will add to your travel experience, our suppliers are the best available.
Why Travel Agents?
Because it costs you nothing to use our services! Some agents add a service fee to help compensate for their time, but we do not. And the suppliers have agency fees built in, so even if you book direct, you are still paying for the services of a travel agent, even if you don't use one. So the better question is, "Why not?"
And we are affiliated with one of the top agencies in the country who bring us the buying power of over 11,000 agents. With that kind of clout, we have access to an unbelievable number of vendors, including all the major tour and cruise lines.
