Meet the Team

At The Savvy Traveler, we've always believed that the best journeys are shared ones. That belief doesn't just apply to our clients — it shapes the team we are building around them. Every member of The Savvy Traveler team brings something genuinely personal to the table: real travel experience, real relationships, and a real commitment to making your trip something you'll never forget.

We don't build our team by posting job listings. We build it the way the best travel experiences happen — organically, through connection, shared adventure, and a mutual passion for getting it right. Our team members aren't colleagues we met in an office. They're people we've traveled with, laughed with, and trusted with the things that matter most.

That's the foundation every client relationship is built on. When you work with any member of our team, you're not getting a transaction — you're getting a travel partner who is personally invested in your experience from the first conversation to the moment you return home.

We are proud to introduce the people behind The Savvy Traveler Experience:

An Appreciation for culture

Dorothy Benson

I have spent my entire career in the hospitality industry, beginning with more than eight years at Disney, followed by roles with Marriott and InterContinental Hotels. When my husband joined the U.S. Foreign Service, our family had the opportunity to live abroad in Cairo, Egypt; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Helsinki, Finland; and Dhaka, Bangladesh. These experiences allowed me to travel extensively and engage with diverse cultures while representing the United States overseas.

After returning to the United States, I transitioned into the golf industry, taking on roles in sales and marketing, food and beverage event management, and private club membership. I continue to work in the golf sector today as an office manager for a golf management company, supporting operations across 22 courses and more than 300 employees.

In my new role, I would love to help you plan your travel adventures!

Dorothy Benson

Let the fun begin!

Sam Brown

Some people discover a passion for travel later in life. Sam Brown was born into it.

Growing up watching his grandparents David and Arlene build The Savvy Traveler from a shared love of exploration into a full-service travel agency, Sam developed an early appreciation for what it means to truly experience the world — not just pass through it. Last year, he joined them on an immersive trip through the UK and Ireland, deepening a firsthand connection to the destinations that are among The Savvy Traveler's greatest specialties.

Sam brings something genuinely rare to the team: the perspective of a traveler who represents the next generation of explorers. He understands how younger travelers think, what they value, and what inspires them to book. That insight, combined with a sharp analytical mind — he began trading currency markets as a high school sophomore — means Sam approaches travel planning the way he approaches everything: with curiosity, precision, and enthusiasm.

Having complted his professional training and now a fully certified travel advisor, Sam will be working alongside David, Arlene, Anabel and Dorothy to help clients discover their own version of the journey. Whether you're a first-time traveler or a seasoned explorer looking for something new, Sam's energy and dedication to getting the details right will make the planning process as enjoyable as the trip itself.

A PASSION FOR TRAVEL

Anabel Tamasovich

You may already seen some of the posts in Anabel's Corner, where Anabel has been writing about travel experiences for some time. She is a talented travel writer and has also been helping with our social media. But you may not know that Anabel is our granddaughter and has been traveling with us since she was 2 years old!

After completing her studies at Georgia College in Milledgeville, she immediately began using her skills in various social media and writing assignments. She is also a talented musician who co-founded Screen Door, a recruitment company in the music industry.

But her passion of travel continues to be a central theme upon which she will expand in her new role. She completed her training in record time and is now ready to help you plan that trip you have always wanted, especially if it is to Ireland, a country she loves. She would probably be living in Houth now if she could!

We are thrilled to welcome Anabel and look forward to seeing her grow her business - I think we may all be able to learn from watching her grow!

Enjoy the Journey

Terri Saylor

Welcome! I'm a recently retired investment and banking professional who spent many years helping individuals navigate important financial decisions with honesty, attention to detail, and personalized service. Those same values now guide me as I begin an exciting new chapter as a travel agent.

Travel has always been one of my passions, and I'm thrilled to help others experience the joy of discovering new destinations and creating unforgettable memories. Whether you're dreaming of a relaxing beach escape, a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or the adventure of a lifetime, I'm committed to making the planning process smooth, enjoyable, and tailored to your unique interests.

When I'm not planning travel, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family. I'm happily married, the proud parent of two grown children, and the grandmother of two energetic grandsons who keep life full of fun and adventure. I also love reading, taking walks, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

I believe every journey should be as enjoyable as the destination itself. I look forward to getting to know you, understanding your travel dreams, and helping you create experiences you'll cherish for years to come.

Katrina Cepeda

I call the San Francisco Bay Area home and have spent much of my career in tech in the heart of Silicon Valley. My first job was working alongside David and Arlene Brown, and that role took me all over the world as I managed international programs.

My love of travel began at age 13, when my aunt and uncle invited me to spend the summer with them in Germany. From there, we explored several countries across Europe, and I knew then that I had caught the travel bug. Traveling to historical places and viewing beautiful art encouraged me to get a degree in Art History, which I have applied to where I visit.

My interests include:

  • Historical sites, art, and museums
  • Active and outdoor adventures
  • Culinary and cultural experiences
  • Seeking secret hidden treasures (speakeasies, underground cities, you name it!)

When I’m not traveling, I spend my time cuddling up with my three bunnies and attending music festivals.

I would love to help you plan unforgettable experiences and discover the places you’ve always wanted to visit. Please reach out and say hello!
