Confused about Delta’s new Seat Designations?

We were! Delta recently refreshed their product names, causing some confusion for travelers and even those of us in the travel industry! So we asked a few Delta agents when booking, and many had difficulty trying to explain the new terms!

But it’s really not that complicated. According to the Delta News Hub, the new designations will now be classified into the following categories: Delta Main (formerly Main Cabin), Delta Comfort (formerly Delta Comfort+®), Delta First (Formerly First Class), Delta Premium Select, and Delta One.

You'll no longer see “Basic Economy” (just as well as we never recommend it!) – instead, that base-level fare class has been folded into Delta Main, which now includes three experience options allowing you to better tailor your journey: Basic, Classic and Extra. Each of these categories is further applied to all seat classes, where Basic will include only the essentials and extra will provide the most premium features for that level of seat.

You can find all these designations and further explanation on the Delta News Hub at https://news.delta.com/now-booking-delta-new-product-names-and-travel-experiences-flying-fall.
