How to Plan a Luxury Trip to Thailand

If you want to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Thailand, then you might as well make sure it’s dripping with luxury. While it might take some extra planning and some investment of funds, it’s definitely worth it to have an adventure that you’re going to remember for the rest of your life. So, here are some tips and tricks to help you plan a fantastic luxury vacation.

When to Go to Thailand

One of the many wonderful things about Thailand is that it has a relatively stable year-round temperature. While Thailand does have seasons, especially when it comes to rain, you can be fairly sure of the temperature. Still, there are some better times to go.

Winter (December to February) probably has the best weather, with more comfortable temperatures and less rainfall. However, the prices are often higher at this time of year, and there will be more tourists around.

Fall can have some nice weather as well, with fewer tourists. You can also enjoy some festivals and other events at this time of year. Always research what is happening at certain times of the year, so you can potentially get involved.

Flights and Accommodation

Next, you should think about how you’re getting there. It’s a long flight, and for a more comfortable and luxurious experience, it might be worth paying extra for business or even first class travel. As well as more comfortable flights, you will be able to access lounges at the airports where you can eat, drink, and relax while you wait. Be sure to check with us about Delta Vacations, which can often use to find lower cost non-published fares for those expensive long-haul flights!

You can also consider getting accommodation in a luxury resort, or renting or even buying your own accommodation for the most luxurious experience.

Eating in Thailand

Thai food is famous around the world, and if you love tasty, spicy food, then you’re going to feel right at home in Thailand. While Thai street food is beloved, it’s also worth exploring a more luxurious Thai restaurant for a refined taste of Thailand you might not have experienced before.

Always look for restaurants that source fresh, local ingredients. Michelin-starred restaurants are usually fantastic, but you can also ask for local recommendations for places to eat. While Thai food in Thailand will be brilliant, you could also try some other cuisines to make your eating experience more varied and more interesting.

Exploring Thailand

Thailand is a big and beautiful country, and while you could happily spend your whole vacation in Bangkok or one of the other big cities, it’s definitely worth trying to explore more of Thailand. Renting a car is probably the easiest way to do this, but you could try public transportation or taxis to help you get around.

As well as enjoying city life, make sure to explore some of the natural beauty of Thailand as well. As you go into more rural areas, it might be helpful to learn more of the Thai language so you can talk to more people, as fewer people will be able to understand English. You can still get by with limited knowledge of the language, but the other option is to take a tour with a licensed guide who will ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
