We have passed by the Toby Carvery in Old Windsor for years and never realised there were any accommodations. But The Innkeeper’s Lodge is there, a small hotel just behind the restaurant. It is quite convenient not only to Windsor but to Heathrow Airport.
Check-in is at the bar inside the restaurant, and there is an inside key-card access to the rooms in the hotel section. It is also possible to drive to a door just outside the hotel to drop bags. There is no lift to the upper floor. The rooms are small and a bit “tired”, but everything was clean, and there was not much to complain about for the price.
However, breakfast was a disappointment. The restaurant advertises a full English breakfast buffet for only £3.99, but the hotel residents get a quite abbreviated continental breakfast. No offer was made to upgrade to their more standard fare, and the overall feel was that we were a bit shortchanged. Note to management: Please just add a bit to the room price, if you must, and let everyone enjoy the full meal.
