Florida
In a departure from our mostly European theme, we have decided that it is time to start building some content on the other part of the world where we like to hang out. Florida is the most tropical state in the US mainland, and it is also home to numerous themeparks and attractions. We love the parks, especially Walt Disney World, the grandaddy of them all. But some of the most interesting sights lie away from the big cities in little beaches, coves or inland rivers and lakes throughout Florida. For an overview of some of the activities you may like to try, visit our Florida Tour page.
Along those same lines, why not take up a new hobby on one of your days off? The American Dive Institute of Central Florida is a dive shop and scuba instruction facility locally owned and operated by award winning scuba instructors in Central Florida. There are many undersea sights just off the coast, and some of the natural springs offer unparalleled diving or even snorkeling opportunities. They offer a wide variety of courses (and dive trips) so that you may just find yourself returning home with a completely new and unexpected set of skills!
We spend a lot of time around the Orlando area, and "Mickey" is our favorite neighbor, so it's only fitting that we give him honorable mention. More than just a theme park, Walt Disney World is a whole family of full service resorts, each built around a unique theme and all tied together in famous Disney style. Everything just seems to fit into place, making the "world" a complete family entertainment venue. While staying in the park is indeed convenient, but other options abound that can as well be somewhat less restrictive. There are almost as many hotel options in the Orlando area as stars in the sky. We will be adding more about Florida in general and Orlando specifically in the future, but for now, here are some hotels and their current rates. Check back in the future - we will be adding more about the area soon!
