Flights are a commodity, and we recommend you shop carefully for the best airfare. All the travel sites offer flight search engines, including our two major reservations systems, and it used to be that your best deals could be found directly at the airline site. With our newest supplier, Orbitz (See their Latest Flight Deals!), that is no longer the case. We have tested their system on several occasions against the various airline sites with very good results. And, they offer packages - often some savings can be had if you book everything at once. For rental cars check the sites below and see who has the best current offers. These rates vary widely and are often better through general reservations sites than on the company site. One exception is Ireland - if going there, be sure to check out our special rates at Budget Car Rental in Ireland.

The best deals are to be had in the hotel world, and there is plenty of competition there. From this page you can get a variety of rates representing the best available online. But look deeper, because cost is not the whole story. We really like the sites that follow up with you and allow you to see actual travelers' reviews. And, very importantly - do you have to pay up front at the time of your reservation, or does the booking company only take your card as a reference? You will find that all our hotel providers offer good service in addition to great rates, but our overall favorite for European accomodations is Venere. But unlike almost all other hotel suppliers, Venere does not charge your card when the reservation is made. We've included a search engine for them a bit further down the page.

Travel Partner Summary

One of the best travel sites to emerge in the last few years is Orbitz. It started as more of a "comparison" site, but it has quickly grown to rival all the biggies. They offera wide range of options and often have excellent hotel deals.

TravelNow owns "Hotels.com", and they have just completed a project to "normalize" their hotel data base with that of Expedia. This means that almost every property found in Expedia is also available from TravelNow, usually at the same or better prices.
